Do take the time to just run through the demonstration video to a get a feel for how we did these studies-- DON'T try to watch the whole thing at one time or you will be as glazed over as my first group of 6th graders were---- when I tried showing them the entire video. Exhausted by literally watching the paint dry my students had to rally to get back into gear to attack their value studies. And they did. These are beautiful painting created by the student in the 6th grade classes. We created a sphere and a cone from oil clay and arranged the items on the table in a still life. The students mapped a drawing of the basic shapes and then began painting using black and white tempera paint. Lovely!
