A big title for something I have just started to think about. Interdisciplinary thinking isn't new --- and there are volumes written about how this is the next generation of thought --- and this is the thought that is happening right now.
We, when thinking creatively, imaginatively think in layers. Discipline is not like a turnip that we slice through for the 'correct' resolution. What are we teaching and practicing n the art making in studios and art studio classrooms? It is layered. Art calls upon understanding of story telling, emotion, idea, identity and applications of craft, color, rules that are operated within a set of guidelines --- but what are we teaching? How to make ? How to follow directions?
Reading about art and writing about art falls into this bin of creative application.
