I love this idea - so developmentally appropriate for little people who stand only a few feet off the ground and compose their world from such a different vantage point than adults. Rocks on the ground creating lines (and shapes, and patterns, even images) it exactly the sort of thing a 6 year old sees that those of us with supposedly more "lofty" concerns frequently miss. This really validates who 6 year olds are, what their world is about, and encourages them to identify art within that world. Very cool!
